DIY Skin Care!

Last week I did a live on Facebook on organic skin care ingredients and why our skin care is important. I am going to share the information from my slides on here as well as the recipes. This spring is a great time to make our own products and get creative!

Our Skin

•Prevents water lost from the body

•Protects body from UV radiation from the sun

•Provides a protective barrier against outside micro-organisms

•Helps control entry of foreign materials

•Major organ involved in eliminating wastes and impurities from your body

Skin Stats

•The average women exposes herself to 167 different chemicals- That’s just using about 12 products total a day

• What you put on your skin also affects your baby. 300 contaminants have been detected in the umbilical cord blood of newborns

•We absorb 60-70% of what we put on our skin!

•Once you apply a cream, soap, deodorant, etc… these are not filtered by your body’s digestive system. They penetrate your skin and hit your blood and lymphatic systems.
